Tallahassee–Senate President Jeff Atwater and Senator Mike Haridopolos today announced their endorsement of former State Representative Joe Negron to replace retiring State Senator and former Senate President Ken Pruitt in Senate District 28. Senators Alex Villalobos, Carey Baker, Mike Fasano, Don Gaetz, Ken Pruitt, JD Alexander, Alex Diaz de la Portilla, Andy Gardiner, Paula Dockery and Dennis Jones also endorsed Representative Negron. 

“I am pleased to endorse Representative Negron to once again represent the citizens of Florida’s Treasure Coast,” said Senate President Atwater (R- North Palm Beach). “Joe has a distinguished background as an attorney coupled with his previous tenure in the Florida House of Representatives, during which he concentrated his legislative efforts on issues that are imperative to all Floridians – insurance and education reform.  I am confident that Joe will excel in the Florida Senate and will work diligently to promote the issues important to his community.”

Joe Negron is a native Floridian, born in West Palm Beach, and is currently a Republican candidate for the Florida Senate District 28. Joe served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2006, the last two years as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. Joe has concentrated his legislative efforts on insurance issues, education reform and appropriations. As Appropriations Chairman, Joe established conservative fiscal principles in the budget process. Working with Governor Jeb Bush, when Joe completed his service in the House, Florida had over $8 billion in reserves, more than any other state in the country.
